Set off to explore the Primiero Valley
A region to discover in every season
The Primiero Valley
It reveals itself at first glance...
…Just look out of the window!
Directly opposite the flats, you can see Val Canali, one of the most enchanting valleys in the Dolomites. It is a place where woods and sweeping meadows blend with the majestic mountain silhouettes, enhanced by the evocative presence of the ruins of Castelpietra, which has stood as the valley’s silent guardian for centuries.
It is the ideal starting point for walks, hikes and days spent immersed in the natural beauty of the Paneveggio – Pale di San Martino Nature Park.
In the background stand the spectacular Pale di San Martino, the largest group of peaks in the Dolomites, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Their summits accompany you throughout the day: they turn pink at dawn and dusk, offering the enchanting spectacle of the ‘Enrosadira’ and inviting you to set off to explore trails, mountain huts and unforgettable views.
Among the most captivating destinations in the area are Monte Vederna, with its sweeping meadows and splendid views over the valley; the picturesque Lake Calaita, nestled amongst woods and mountains, which is the ideal spot for relaxing walks in the countryside; and the spectacular Val Venegia, one of the most beautiful valleys in the Dolomites, with its vast pastures, breathtaking scenery and trails winding at the foot of the Pale di San Martino.
